Let's talk about the role and responsibilities:

  • Assess and report on baseline accessibility status of our products
  • Maintain detailed records of testing sessions and validation efforts, including details of issue location and nature of accessibility issues
  • Setting testing processes and contributing to training materials and methodology for internal use.
  • Recommend organizationspecific best practice solutions for edits, enhancements or accommodations to meet accessibility standards
  • Advise technical remediation plans for improving the accessibility of our products
  • Advise and contribute to the accessibility training plans and materials for internal staff

Deliverables:

  • Completion of an accessibility assessment to baseline our products
  • Documentation and clear technical direction for how we can meet the Priority 2 or Level AA conformance as prescribed by the W3C, (WCAG 2.0, WAI-ARIA, UAAG and ATAG). This could include a combination of process, technology and training
  • Empower internal staff with knowledge and guidance on how to sustainably maintain the the Priority 2 or Level AA conformance

Let's talk about your skills/expertise:

  • CPACC, WAS or other web accessibility certification(s) preferred
  • Experience working with and/or developing web content that achieves Priority 2 or Level AA conformance as prescribed by the W3C, (WCAG 2.0, WAI-ARIA, UAAG and ATAG)
  • Previous experience with accessibility evaluation tools such as Chrome accessibility developer tools, ally, aXE, Inspect, WAI toolbar
  • Experience with assistive technologies (eg, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, ReadOutLourd, Zoomtext, MAGic, braille keyboards, embossers, textbook conversion, speech recognition, captioning, etc) and various accessibility tools
  • Experience using Screen Reader
  • Previous experience training teams on how to improve accessibility compliance levels and the provision of related documentation
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
