The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) has the public responsibility of managing one of the largest and the most successful stadiums in Australia and the world - the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

The MCG is host to more than 70 major events annually, attracting over three million patrons and visitors.

The Venue & Event Services department is responsible for the planning and delivery of all major events staged at the MCG, and employs approximately 1000 event staff.

Ticketing, accreditation and access control services are critical to efficient and effective event delivery and the ultimate success of events at the MCG.

Ticketing Services is responsible for liaising with venue hirers to establish and maintain appropriate ticketing requirements and providing a responsive and high quality service to all its external and internal customers.


A new great part time opportunity has arisen for a Ticketing and Accreditation Assistant for a 6 month fixed term contract within this team.

Reporting to the Ticketing & Accreditation Manager, the goals of this role include (but not limited to):

  • Ticketing administration including printing of tickets and inventory management.
  • Ensure that hirer requirements regarding ticketing holds for cameras, dining rooms, special allocations (club enclosures, cheer squads, supporter sections) and contingency tickets are accurately requested and recorded
  • Support the Ticketing & Accreditation Manager & Coordinators with onsale preparations as required
  • Collate working personnel pass requests for a match day and upload into the internal accreditation system
  • Check the access control configuration for each event to ensure accuracy in line with hirer's requests
  • Ensure any ticketing requests made by hirers are fulfilled (printed), and surplus inventory is released for sale
  • Preparation of all event day ticketing communication, including paperwork required for an event day, including printing and distributed if required

To be considered for this position, you will need the following:

Essential

  • Ticketing background is necessary
  • Strong administration skills
  • Team player who has a collaborative and respectful approach to peers, subordinates and superiors.
  • High level of knowledge with Microsoft Products
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong understanding of and experience with computerised ticketing systems
  • Exceptional time management, organisational skills and attention to detail
  • High quality of written and oral communication skills with the ability to problem solve efficiently
  • Committed to operate within an effective team environment
  • Strong customer service skills

Desirable

  • Experience in the Event/Sport/Venue or relevant Industry
