Be challenged and imagine with us As Technical Officer, you will provide specialist technical laboratory support for Exercise and Sports Science teaching sessions.

This pivotal role will support the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs and maintain the specialist equipment in our Exercise and Sports Science Laboratories.


In this role you will:
Coordinate and maintain specialist equipment in the laboratories.
Ensure the health and safety of staff and students within the laboratory environment.
Consult with academics on course needs to determine the space, materials and equipment required by laboratory classes.

This continuing position is full time and will be primarily located at the Callaghan (Awabakal and Worimi land) and Ourimbah (Darkinjung land) campuses.

How will you inspire us?You will have: Familiarity with equipment, instrumentation, and safe practices common to Exercise and Sports Science.

Strong technical capability including performing software updates, and assembling and fixing equipment as required.
Experience providing technical support in a laboratory setting.
Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to work to competing deadlines.
Strong communication skills including the ability to build effective working relationships with staff and students.
What we offer The remuneration for this position isfrom$77,858 to $90,316+ 17%superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

A degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or an associate diploma in a relevant area with at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.

Experience in assembly, repair and maintenance of equipment and instrumentation.
Demonstrated skills and knowledge of the processes and operation of equipment and instrumentation common to Exercise and Sports Science.
Sound organisational skills, including the demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritise to meet competing deadlines.
Proficiency and familiarity with exercise software and common computer software programs (including spreadsheet and database applications) and email use.

Well-developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with staff, students and persons from diverse backgrounds, and adhering to workplace policies on equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture.
