The role of Affordable Housing Officer is responsible for influencing decisions and working across a broad range of departments to successfully implement affordable housing projects across the Central Coast.

You will deliver projects to improve access to affordable housing for low-income households, with a focus on creating strategies for innovative housing solutions and partnerships, whilst developing relationships with key stakeholders.

Your role will focus on Councils three main areas for action:
Planning, Partnerships and Early intervention/prevention.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Work across Council departments, units and sections to identify and pursue opportunities for the provision of affordable housing through planning and development;
  • Identify and help negotiate opportunities where Council can partner with key stakeholders (other levels of government, business and community organisations) to leverage financial and other assistance to deliver affordable housing partnerships across the Central Coast;
  • Stay uptodate with contemporary affordable housing practices and legislation and the local housing sector;
  • Implement, monitor and report on the progress of the Central Coast Affordable and Alternative Housing Strategy.

  • You are fantastic at building strong internal networks, understanding interrelationships within Council and how they impact the AHS;
  • You enjoy being involved with the Housing Sector, focussing on Community Housing Providers and State and Federal Government Partners, to identify opportunities to cooperate on affordable housing projects;
  • You love effectively managing the delivery of this important program of work as you understand the impact it has on the lives of the local community;

This role provides a commencing salary range of between $92,175 to $108,344 per annum + 10.5% superannuation.

A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role with flexible/hybrid working arrangements available.
