About the Role

This is a 3-6 month fixed-term contract role with the possibility of extension or permanent appointment.


As a Principal Project Officer (AO7) you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and accountability in program development and management for the Department's programs related to the provision of housing and homelessness services.

Working collaboratively with not-for-profit, for-profit, and government partners, you will contribute to the creation of an effective and integrated service system, improving long-term outcomes for clients.


  • Key Responsibilities:_
  • Provide professional and timely advice to inform strategy and solutions for complex problems.
  • Research, prepare proposals, and collaborate with stakeholders on project plans, recommendations, submissions, and briefing papers of a complex nature.
  • Guide the department's investment in social services through the development of robust, evidencebased housing assistance programs.
  • Lead the creation of an integrated, effective, and responsive suite of housing and assistance programs.
  • Inform the movement of investment towards flexible, integrated, and outcomesfocused responses.
  • Lead the development and implementation of funding reform activities
