The Role:

This will be achieved through:

  • Creating and delivering proactive content for external and internal audiences, developing inhouse content processes to industrystandards, and driving internal awareness and capability of best practice content development with a focus on our social media channels.
  • Implementing innovative channel strategies to deliver on the communications strategy and reputation uplift program to build brand recognition and maximise positive engagement and sentiment of Melbourne Water in the community.
  • Responding to social media enquiries and commentary across all channels as required, within tight deadlines.
  • Monitoring the internal and external environments, developing proactive and reactive social media messaging and supporting materials including incident response (when required); and with direction from the Manager implementing a robust performance and measurement program for digital channels with a focus on social media.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Exceptional social media content development and channel coordination experience including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn
  • Highly creative with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working closely with a wide range of business stakeholders including people leaders to identify opportunities and develop messaging
  • Demonstrated ability to curate and develop engaging and thought provoking stories and content
  • Ability to work autonomously and to exercise a high degree of responsibility and accountability to meet tight deadlines, or adapt to changing priorities


Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required together with a relevant tertiary qualification or significant experience in Marketing, Communications or equivalent.
