About the Role

As Senior Project Officer your role will include the following key tasks:

  • Coordinate the administration of school appropriation payments, ensuring the workflow process is documented and approval requests allocated to ensure schools are paid in a timely manner.
  • Provide administrative support to the Curriculum team in managing the Community Language Schools grant process, maintaining a high level of accuracy in all correspondence adhering to departmental standards.
  • Assist in the coordination of the end-to-end asset stocktake for the division, ensuring the management and administration of assets is in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation, processing, distribution and archiving of various forms of financial and human resource related reports, spreadsheets and paperwork.
  • Assist with the purchase of goods and services for the Office of Deputy Director-General through use of purchase orders, goods receipting, general purpose expenditure vouchers and purchasing assets, in line with departmental requirements.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to persuade and influence others.
  • Contribute to building an inclusive work environment, work design, and team culture to enable a positive and healthy workplace.
  • Liaise with officers at all levels of the department, other government agencies, educational institutions and organisations, the private sector and community representatives.
