Our NSW Planning, Planning & Land Use Strategy branch is currently seeking to appoint a
Planning Officer to assist with the implementation of the Hunter and Central Coast Regional Plans and strategic planning projects, as well as assist with the assessment of planning proposals to meet statutory obligations and Government policy.
About You
In this role, you will provide advice and support to key internal and external stakeholders, to resolve issues and achieve practical solutions and good outcomes for high-profile and contentious land use planning projects.
You will be able to identify, critically analyse and evaluate key issues, recommend innovative options, solutions, practices and processes to enable timely responses to customer enquiries and be comfortable assisting in resolving disputes.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to land use planning outcomes across Newcastle and the Central Coast.You will be completing planning assessments, contributing to projects, undertaking small projects and contributing to other planning programs and activities to assist achieve state, regional and local planning objectives.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in planning, environmental science or management, engineering or other relevant discipline.
- Willingness to travel and (minimum) Class C Driver's Licence.
