About North East Link

The Spark Consortium has been chosen to handle the Central Package for the North East Link Project - Victoria's most important road initiative.

The Spark Consortium's Design and Construction Contractor, consisting of Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction, and China Construction Oceania, will be in charge of constructing the twin three-lane tunnels and crucial interchanges for the project.

The Central Package, part of a Public Private Partnership, will feature three-lane tunnels connecting the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, providing a smoother commute and diverting heavy traffic away from local streets. North East Link is expected to accommodate up to 135,000 vehicles daily, reducing congestion in the north-eastern region while improving local road conditions.

About the Opportunity

Spark is actively recruiting an experienced Plant Administrator to join the team working on the North East Link project. This role involves providing administrative support to the plant team, overseeing various activities such as scheduling, communication, record-keeping, procurement, and more.

This full-time position is based at one of the project's sites, requiring candidates to be comfortable with on-site conditions and have their own transportation due to limited access to public transport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence and documentation
  • Preparing relevant documentation and maintaining records
  • Ensuring an efficient filing system and seeking process improvements
  • Supporting equipment maintenance to meet safety standards
  • Planning and coordinating plant maintenance
  • Ordering and managing stock of parts and supplies
  • Assisting with day-to-day operational activities
  • Handling insurance, warranty claims, and equipment hiring and transport

Required qualifications and experience

  • Word processing and secretarial qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of Administration experience (less for exceptional candidates)
  • Experience in a construction work environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities effectively
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Client-focused with attention to detail

What we offer:

  • Monthly social events
  • Rewards and recognition programs
  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Strong organizational culture
  • Career support and development opportunities
