Be Recruitment has partnered with a leading Child and Family Agency based in the city area of Sydney to recruit a Team Leader of Family Preservation.


Family preservation is a voluntary program that strengthens the ability of parents to respond to their children's needs and to create a safe and nurturing home.


In this position, you will lead a team of up to seven case managers who deliver Family Preservation services to families at risk of escalating within the child protection system.


An integral function of this position is to provide supervision, coaching and development to your team to ensure they are equipped with the skills required to assist families in creating safety within the home.

You will also contribute to the overall operations objectives of the wider team and organisation.

Skills and Experience

  • A relevant bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or similar.
  • At least two years of leadership experience in Child Protection/Permanency Support Program/Out of Home Care OR five years' experience in Child Protection Case Management.
  • Experience providing supervision to case managers
  • An indepth understanding of risk assessment and management within the context of child protection
  • Knowledge of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 and other relevant legislation and frameworks.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and government agencies

Preferred but not essential.

  • Formal qualification in leadership and management
