The Opportunity


We have an exciting opportunity available for an Operations Officer to join the EPA in our Regulatory Practice and Services Division.


In this role you will be joining the EPA's Incident Management and Environmental Health branch to undertake environmental sampling and/or incident management to ensure the protection of the environment and human health.


The role will require you to work with other NSW Government Agencies, such as Fire & Rescue NSW, industry and the community undertaking diverse field activities such as responding to reports of pollution, collecting samples and evidence, minimising and preventing harm to people and the environment and advising on the best clean-up strategies.


This role will be required to be available on a rotating roster, after hours and on weekends to ensure advice and response capability across NSW 24 hours a day throughout the year.


About You

  • An understanding of environmental sampling and/or incident management
  • Willingness and ability to respond to incidents and emergencies across NSW on short notice
  • Current driver's licence
