The Role


Reporting to the Internal Communications, Culture and Engagement Lead, the position is ensures the organisational level awareness of, and support for, the Digital Strategy and the People and Capability Strategy through effective communications planning and execution.

In doing this, the Engagement Advisor ensures that all communications relating to people and digital technology are of a high quality.


The Engagement Advisor works across the business and IT at a senior level in the development of effective communications planning to deliver strategy level communications, and ensure alignment of project and program level communications with Melbourne Water's internal communications and Digital branding and communications guidelines.


This will be achieved through:

  • Providing advice and support on Communications and Change Management as required to support the Digital Strategy and People and Capability Strategy implementation.
  • Liaising with the Internal Communications functions within People and Capability and IT.
  • Providing strategy level communications services to the IT function, People and Capability and other relevant business groups as required including the development of key communications materials.
  • Oversight and management of the Workplace tool within the business
  • Ensure a high quality and consistent approach to communication for the Digital Strategy (including relevant programs and projects).
Your Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated high degree of communications management skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully communicating business change, preferably in the information technology/digital and HR environment
  • Professional experience gained in contemporary internal or corporate communications, PR and/or Marketing.
  • Strong consulting skills and experience in developing internal marketing strategies and design of communicating proof points that reinforce an employee experience consistent with the organisation's strategy, values and purpose.
  • Proven experience in delivering successful marketing campaigns, with particular focus on internal communications
  • Proven judgment working in a corporate environment with complex issues, programs and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an eye for detail.
  • Strong analytical skills for researchbased analysis to drive continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to meet competing deadlines, manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and to manage high volumes of work.
  • Ability to deliver in a fastpaced environment, to prioritise tasks and respond to a range of internal stakeholder needs.
