- changing landscape within sports media and sponsorship, has given rise to an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a creative and commercially minded New Partnerships Manager to drive commercial growth on a 12-month fixed term contract from May 2023.


The New Partnerships Manager (NPM) will be responsible for generating revenue for Tennis Australia (TA) by securing new Partners and Sponsors for event properties such as the Australian Open, United Cup, Australian Open Series as well as participation programs and initiatives such as Tennis Hot Shots, Adult Social Play, Diversity & Inclusion programs and Tennis Australia's athlete performance pathways.

Partnerships will range from domestic, regional and global in scope.

About the role

Reporting to
_the Director of Partnerships & International_, in this role you will:

  • Deliver revenue and net surplus budgets for all areas of responsibility (AO, United Cup, AOS events, Tennis, AO Pillars)
  • Secure new revenue that is strategically important to the TA business including communitybased assets
  • Activity to support business development outcomes such as market prospecting, sales meetings, information extraction and brief development, developing and pitching proposals, cost/margin analysis, closing and contracting
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of sophisticated sales processes and negotiation techniques
  • Maintain, update and report on sales activity, pipelines and forecast Weekly sales reviews as a team and individually revenue as required
  • Have an advanced knowledge of Brand Marketing including how to address brand challenges and meet brand objectives
  • Drive gotomarket strategies including identification of industry/category opportunities and aligning TA's value proposition
About you

  • What you will bring to the role:_
  • A minimum of 7 years working within a commercial role and 3 years working at a senior manager role. Experience within the sports marketing industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and budgets
  • Demonstrated experience of creatively constructing solutions for a vast range of brands and partners
  • Selfstarter with the ability to harness sophisticated sales techniques to constantly generate and progress business opportunities
  • Understanding of emerging brand and marketing trends and concepts, including developments in media and digital industries, and how they might be adopted in partnerships that TA develops in the market
  • Demonstrated experience working with different agencies including media, creative, strategy, advertising, and sponsorship agencies
  • Global experience and knowledge from working in multiple markets outside of Australia is desirable
  • Collaborative approach in working efficiently within a team and an array of external departments
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce or business (particularly sales and/or marketing preferred)

  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
