  • Position DescriptionAn exciting opportunity has arisen in our Blacktown office as a Skills Coach for our TFCO team.


As a Skills Coach you will work with an exceptionally motivated team of professionals implementing Treatment Foster Care of Oregon (TFCO), a highly acclaimed, evidence-based intervention, you will make a difference in the lives of children and their families.


WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Work with adolescents aged 1217 years, with behavioural challenges to provide a consistent, reinforcing environment in which prosocial skills are learned and practised
  • Work closely with a positive, solutionoriented and supportive team
  • Work 1:1 with young people in the community
  • Take young people out in the community in your car weekly
- building a strong relationship by engaging them in sports or other fun activities while helping them work on their behavioural issues

  • Solve problems, using your creativity and sense of humour
  • Ensure this behavioural model is delivered with fidelity
  • This is a casual role but must be available to work every week with the same young people and attend the Thursday meeting

WHAT DO WE ASK FOR?

  • Experience in Youth Work, Education or Sport would be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of behaviour management principles
  • Skill building and training experience, specifically with young people
  • Current driving license (essential)
  • Ability to join with young people in activities
- need to be willing to join in with sports, swimming, running etc

  • Willingness to work 1:1 in the community with young people with challenging behaviours in after school hours.
  • Able to attend every Thursday morning meeting at Blacktown office
