About the Opportunity

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Swim Instructors to join our Aqua Learn to Swim team on a casual basis. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering professional and safe learn-to-swim classes to students enrolled in the Aqua Learn to Swim program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the learn to swim program in accordance with framework and standards, ensuring classes start and finish on time.
  • Manage and report class attendances, accurately assessing the swimming lesson students and completing any necessary administration.
  • Provide centre users with relevant and accurate information regarding the Learn to Swim Program and any associated program or service information.
Requirements
  • Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety - AUSTSWIM, Swim Australia, Royal Life Saving or similar standard.
  • Current CPR Certificate.
  • Excellent oral communication and customer service skills.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Current First Aid.
  • Pool Lifeguard Award or similar standard.
  • Oxygen Equipment Certificate.
  • Coaching/teaching experience.
  • Teacher extension courses including infant and preschool, adults, access and inclusion and competitive strokes.
  • Current class C driver's licence.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations.
Remuneration and Benefits
  • The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.
  • Entry level for this role starts at $ per hour plus 25% casual loading.
  • Penalty rates apply for weekend shifts.
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
