The Role:


We are looking for a Head of Operations & Production to oversee daily activities across functions such as Operations, Food Production, Packing, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Wholesale & Projects divisions of Tortuga Ventures.

Ultimately, you'll ensure our operations run smoothly and that people are productive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate business strategy with others in the executive team
  • Design policies that align with the overall strategy
  • Aligning with management team to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
  • Planning and monitoring the daytoday running of the business to ensure smooth progress
  • Supervise staff from different departments and provide constructive feedback
  • Implement efficient processes and standards
  • Ensure compliance with local and international laws, ensuring company conforms to established regulations
  • Oversee the implementation of technology solutions throughout the organization (ERPs, WMS, IMS etc)
  • Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocation
  • Manage contracts and relations with customers, vendors, partners and other stakeholders
  • Evaluate risk and lead quality assurance efforts
  • Oversee expenses and budgeting to help the organization optimize costs and benefits
  • Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
  • Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation
  • Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors
  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Mentor and motivate teams to achieve productivity and engagement
  • Report on operational performance and suggest improvements

Daily & Monthly Responsibilities

  • Oversee daytoday operations, assigning weekly performance goals and assuring their completion, while accomplishing your own goals
  • Recruit, onboard, and train highperforming employees to achieve sales, profitability, market share, and business plan objectives
  • Maintain project timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished on time with learnings understood & applied
  • Develop, implement, and maintain budgetary and resource allocation plans across all departments
  • Delegate responsibilities to the best employees to perform them while enforcing all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values
  • Ensure the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives.
  • Ensure the overall delivery and quality of the unit's offerings to customers.
  • Evaluate and decide upon key investments in equipment, infrastructure, and talent.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as Head of Operations, Operations Director or similar leadership role
  • Familiarity with all business functions including HR, finance, supply chain, manufacturing, Quality Assurance and IT
  • Experience with implementing IT & ERP systems
  • Experience with managing complex logistic networks & teams
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership ability
  • Analytical mind
  • Problemsolving aptitude
  • High level of experience in manufacturing/operations
  • Proven experience in a managerial role
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain financial plans
  • Ability to motivate and lead people, and hold employees accountable
  • Strong working knowledge of operational procedures
  • Excellent time management for handling multiple responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in business management or related field
  • Experience at a startup
  • Past experience in subscriptionbased enterprises

Salary:
Up to $100,614.36 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
