Role Scope

The Culture and Reconciliation (CaR) team has responsibility for whole-of-government implementation of the Queensland Government Reconciliation Action Plan ; Cultural Capability Framework and Reframing the Relationships Plans; and the Many Voices: Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Languages Policy and Action Plan.

The CaR team also administers the Celebrating Reconciliation Grants and the Indigenous Languages Grants Programs. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the CaR team liaises and works closely with a range of stakeholders across Queensland Government, Reconciliation Australia and Reconciliation Queensland Incorporated.

The role of the Senior Program Officer, Culture and Reconciliation is to develop, implement and manage a range of projects and initiatives that contribute to the Queensland Government's vision for a reframed relationship.

Key responsibilities of this role

• Implementation of the Celebrating Reconciliation Grants and the Indigenous Languages Grants.

• High level knowledge and ability to navigate the Smartygrant system with minimal supervision.

• Ability to write high level correspondence.

• Develop and implement project plans, monitor and track deliverables and outcomes including preparation of reports.

• Develop and foster effective relationships with key government and nongovernment stakeholders, including provision of advice, support and guidance.

• Contribute to the evaluation of whole-of-government policies, programs and services, including assessing the effectiveness of reconciliation and cultural capability actions.

• Prepare high-level responses to requests for information, including briefing notes and presentations.

• Collaborate with key delivery partners across the department to compile complex, sensitive, time-critical and high quality reports, submissions, consultative documents and communication tools in relation to the culture and reconciliation projects and initiatives.

• All staff are responsible for identifying, managing and reporting risks relating to their work with the Department

• Other priorities as requested by the Manager, CaR and/or Director Culture.
