An exciting permanent opportunity has become available in the Planning and Program Team in the Policy, Planning and Investment Division at the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). The Planning and Program Team is responsible for program management of transport planning projects, designated Australian Government funded projects and programs on the state network.

TMR is an organisation which offers professional development, a variety of interesting and challenging work statewide, a safe, healthy and secure workplace with flexible work and lifestyle options.

The State Network Programs unit is located in the Portfolio Investment and Programming Branch. The role of State Network Programs unit is to support the effective development, publication, management and reporting of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) - Transport and Main Roads' four-year, multi-billion-dollar transport infrastructure investment program, particularly in relation to the State and local transport networks. State Networks Programs unit has three inter-related teams, each with a particular area of focus.

As the Senior Program Officer, you will assist in the review, development and administration of assigned works within the QTRIP. In particular, you will provide effective and efficient support to the development and monitoring of programs managed by the Planning and Program team, such as Transport System Planning Program (TSPP) and federally funded program/s of works. This role is focussed on governance of project data, processing of project funding changes, and program coordination.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Manage, monitor, and review programs, including the analysis of project data to manage scope and variations, financial and risk management aspects of the programs.

• Engage, consult, and negotiate with stakeholders in relation to program and reporting to ensure data quality and generate efficiencies for the management of investment program and projects.

• Provide input to the annual QTRIP publication, with respect to TSPP investment program and projects.

• Provide assistance with the management of federally funded programs and projects, including reporting as required by the Australian and Queensland governments.

• Coordinate and maintain appropriate governance frameworks in relation to systems, policy, and processes with respect to investment program and projects.

• Participate in a team environment, ensuring effective communication and providing appropriate feedback and support to other team members.

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

• Knowledge and experience in using program and project management reporting systems, Microsoft Office suite, and/or desktop publishing tools.

• Ability to apply program management principles and methodology to manage projects and achieve project and program outcomes.

• Ability to think critically and analyse available and relevant information, and make recommendations, based on sound judgement and evidence.

• Communicates in a clear, succinct, and deliberate manner, adjusting the message so that it resonates with different stakeholders.

• Developing and maintaining effective and diverse networks and professional relationships, with an ability to collaborate and negotiate with stakeholders to drive outcomes.
