About the opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager of Operations, Workforce Australia, this Melbourne-based position supports the General Manager and National Director to manage the performance of staff and allocation of resources to achieve the successful delivery of employment and related services.

You will apply your analytical skills at a senior management level in Employment Services to provide strong and effective leadership, fostering a high-performance culture.

  • Support the GM with analysis, reporting and identification of Workforce Australia (WfA) performance framework opportunities for improvement, operational shortcomings, and working with the GM to rectify.
  • Maximise EPlus' commercial return by supporting sustainable operational management of all sites in their delivery of quality WfA employment outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the EPlus strategic and operational plan, and forecasts.
  • Drive progress towards achievement of operational and consequently financial (revenue and costs) targets across the program, identifying and leading opportunities to improve financial performance.
  • Ensuring operational compliance with the Service Delivery Model, contract, relevant guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Drive and promote effective two-way communication across operations, with view to improve staff retention, increased development opportunities, employee feedback, and visible recognition where appropriate.

This position is temporary and is expected to be contracted up to early-2025.

About you

  • Experience in a direct line management role, demonstrating advanced leadership skills and managing high performing teams.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior operational role in jobactive / WfA deed/contract.
  • Detailed understanding of the jobactive / WfA deed/contract including operational requirements, and their practical application in a site setting.
  • Advanced experience in analysis, planning, prioritising and achieving performance goals.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing a customer-first culture in the design and delivery of services, by working with Regional Managers to make appropriate and timely decisions.
  • Must hold a Driver's license and a Working with Children Check or relevant state equivalent (or are willing to apply for a WWCC).
  • Applicants must have a current police check or undertake one, it is not mandatory to have a clear criminal history.
