About the Role


We currently have a permanent full-time role available for an IT Business Relationship Manager based in THQ, Blackburn tasked with developing a truly exceptional, customer focused technology service to drive excellence and performance of IT systems at The Salvation Army.


The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will be responsible for managing relationships between the IT department and its diverse customers across Social Mission, Divisions and Mission Enterprises.

The BRM will serve as a liaison between the IT department and the business, ensuring that business needs are properly communicated to the IT team, and to build relationships with critical stakeholder.


Key responsibilities for this role will include:

  • The incumbent will develop a process model of engagement with the General Manager for It Service Delivery and the IT Service Manager
  • Act as the primary point of contact for business partners and stakeholders, understanding their needs and identifying opportunities to improve IT services and solutions at the General Manager/ Executive Manager level for Social Mission
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, fostering collaboration and ensuring the IT department is seen as a valued business partner. Bimonthly meetings to be setup providing
  • Overview of IT and Projects
  • Engagement with IT Program Manager. (Monthly PCG Report)
  • Overview of SEP Projects by engaging with the SEP Program Manager
  • Understand the Social Mission challengers with regards to IT and document
  • Issues/Opportunities Register (IT Functional Team Leads to provide)
  • Be fully cognisant of digital strategy.
  • Understand the business strategy, operations and plans to determine how IT can best enable the same
  • Identify opportunities for IT to add value to the organization, including new technologies or process improvements to the IT Senior Leadership Team.
  • Ensure that IT initiatives align with the organization's overall goals and objectives, and that business partners are kept informed of progress and changes via engagement with IT Program Manager and Deputy EGMIT a& Mission
  • Work with the IT Senior Leadership team to help prioritize projects and initiatives based on business needs and available resources
  • Proactively identify and manage potential risks and issues that may impact mission service delivery
  • Act as an advocate for the IT department, promoting its services and capabilities to business partners and stakeholders
About You

To be successful in this role you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a business relationship management role within an IT department
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, processes, and technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with business partners and stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize initiatives, manage resources, and deliver projects on time and within budget why?
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and resultsdriven approach
  • Professional certifications in business relationship management, project management, or IT service management (such as ITIL) are a plus.
