Our Purpose


VicReturn is an exciting new business, tasked with the oversight and administration of Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme ("CDS Vic"), which is scheduled to launch in November 2023.

At VicReturn we are motivated to help keep beverage containers out of landfill, creating clean streams of recycled materials that help to build our Circular Economy by promoting product stewardship of all Beverage Suppliers in Victoria.

As the appointed Scheme Coordinator for CDS Vic, we work with government and partners to oversee the building of a large-scale container recycling network which will play a key role in transforming Victoria's waste and recycling system.

Through a 10c refund for every eligible container returned we will encourage Victorians to collect and recycle their beverage containers, making a positive difference to our people, environment and local industry.

About the role:


Reporting into the Stakeholder and Community Engagement Manager, the Stakeholder and Events Officer will build and maintain strong relationships between the scheme partners and its stakeholders, leading engagement activities & events, and fostering a collaborative and positive environment within all scheme participants.

Build & maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and understand their views on the scheme and their needs.

Input into the development of stakeholder & community strategies, aligned to business and brand objectives.

Collaborate with scheme partners on the marketing calendar and campaign schedule to nurture positive outcomes for all stakeholders.


Develop and deliver community engagement programs & events as part of the community partnership programs in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.

Manage the day-to-day relationship with individual partners, including the ongoing management and maximisation of associated assets and benefits.

Manage the planning, execution and review of events and activations, including the development of event collateral and toolkits.

Skills and Experiences:

About you:


Tertiary qualifications in any discipline and experience in sponsorship / partnership management, or a member-based organization will also be highly regarded.

Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders across complex organisations.

Proven track record of developing & managing compelling events, including the development of event collateral / toolkits.

Brand champion - you know how to deliver relevant and engaging creative which is both unique and on brand.

Energy, passion, creativity and attention to detail, enthusiasm with a clear focus on goal achievement.

Be a constructive and engaged team player, proactively identifying opportunities to support and assist the team.


Outstanding organizational skills including the ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks, meet tight deadlines and to work in an independent, flexible manner.

Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
