About the Role


A School Administrative Officer provides administrative, financial and student welfare/wellbeing support and assistance in relation to office and classroom activities, including but not limited to the following school settings: the office, sick bay, library, science laboratory, and food technology/kitchen areas.


Essential Requirements- Working with Children Check Clearance- First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training.- Administration of Medications - training to be provided based on student needs.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Administration skills including a knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with teachers and students.
  • Ability to perform tasks in one or more of the following areas: office procedures; accounting procedures; sick bay; hospitality and /or design and technology; science.

Kincumber Public School is renowned for its helpful, friendly and knowledgeable frontline staff who manage a busy and well-organised administration office.

Our school has an enrolment of 380 students and is located on the traditional land of the Darkinjung We have a strong reputation for our inclusive culture with around 10% of students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

There are fourteen mainstream classes and three support classes serving students with a range of disabilities, predominantly autism.

As part of a small team with responsibility for managing a wide range of face-to-face, phone and online administrative tasks that support student enrolment and administration, finance, document management, website and communications, and other staff and student support functions, you will enjoy the varied work challenges, opportunities for professional growth and collegial support that make the school office the hub of our workplace.

Your ability to work collaboratively within the role responsibilities using a variety of computer software programs to manage tasks associated with student administration and finance is essential, along with strong interpersonal skills to contribute to the team, including verbal and nonverbal communication, the ability to handle conflict, teamwork, empathy, listening, and a positive attitude are critical to success.
