As a Strategy Analyst specialising in decarbonisation for our client, you will play a pivotal role in shaping strategies to mitigate climate change and promote sustainable energy solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions and improving energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on global decarbonisation trends, policies, and technologies.
  • Develop strategic frameworks and models to assess the impact of decarbonisation initiatives on our client's business operations and financial performance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritise decarbonisation opportunities across various business segments.
  • Analyse the competitive landscape to identify emerging opportunities and risks in the decarbonisation space.
  • Support the development of long-term decarbonisation goals and targets aligned with our client's sustainability commitments.
  • Evaluate potential investments in renewable energy projects, carbon capture and storage technologies, and other decarbonisation ventures.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and policy changes related to carbon pricing, emissions trading, and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and reports to communicate decarbonisation strategies, progress, and outcomes.
  • Engage with external partners, industry associations, and government agencies to advocate for policies that accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.
  • Support the integration of decarbonisation considerations into strategic decision-making processes across the organisation.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement decarbonisation initiatives in alignment with our client's business objectives.
  • Track and measure the performance of decarbonisation initiatives, and recommend adjustments to optimise outcomes and mitigate risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, environmental science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy roles, with a focus on sustainability or decarbonisation.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information and derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of energy markets, climate change policies, and emerging technologies related to decarbonisation.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and modeling tools (e.g., Excel, R, Python) is desirable.
