Our client is a leading Australian energy provider committed to delivering reliable and sustainable energy solutions to their customers. They are dedicated to ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards while driving innovation in the energy sector.

As an integral member of this team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our client operates in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of compliance frameworks, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for promoting ethical business practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Develop and implement compliance monitoring programs to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Stay abreast of changes in legislation and industry regulations relevant to the energy sector.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that compliance processes are integrated into business operations.
  • Investigate compliance breaches and develop corrective action plans to address identified issues.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on compliance performance and areas for improvement.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance-related matters.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of compliance policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and assess third-party relationships to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to support the implementation of compliance initiatives.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities.
  • Serve as a point of contact for regulatory inquiries and audits.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel and regulatory agencies as necessary.
  • Uphold ethical standards and promote a culture of integrity and compliance throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements in the energy sector.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and identify compliance implications.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) are preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and compliance management software.
