This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the Waterways Customer Experience and Operations team.

The Waterways team manages 7km of iconic waterfront and two marinas in the Birrarung (Yarra River) and Victoria Harbour, Docklands.


The Waterways Customer Experience and Operations Coordinator will drive a constructive working culture and bring experience in operations and asset management to support the team in day-to-day marina management.


Your relationship building is key, utilising your well-developed customer experience and stakeholder engagement skills in the delivery of Waterways initiatives, projects and operations.

Previous knowledge of the marine environment is desired but not essential for this position, we are looking for the right People Leader to join our team.


Selection Criteria:

All CoM People Leaders will demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team to achieve high performance outcomes with coaching skills to develop team capabilities, team cohesion and the ability to effectively manage conflict and under performance.
  • Interpersonal, negotiation and persuasion skills with the ability to use discretion and judgement.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and maintain business plans and associated budgetary and financial management requirements
In addition, the Waterways Customer Experience and Operations Coordinator will require:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing contracts and/or service agreements with internal and external suppliers and service providers
  • Proficient with software packages including booking systems, Microsoft Office and financial management
  • Capacity to interpret relevant legislation and effectively implement as required particularly for marine compliance matters
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a high level of autonomy
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with, negotiate, influence and gain cooperation from internal and external customers /stakeholders
  • Welldeveloped customer experience skills including a proven ability to deliver high quality service to a broad range of stakeholders
