Bridgetown High School (HS) is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and innovative Teacher of Humanities and Social Sciences and English, commencing in Term 4.

We are seeking a Teacher who is committed to achieving outstanding educational outcomes for students in Years 7 to Years 10. Ideally, the successful applicant will have proven skills or experience in lesson delivery which includes High Impact Instruction or Explicit Instruction. Experience in differentiating learning to meet individual student needs would be desirable. Ideally you will have the necessary skill set to prepare students for an upper school pathway. Bridgetown High School is a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school.

Bridgetown HS is situated approximately is located 270kms south of Perth on the Blackwood River in the Southwest region of Western Australia and proudly meets the needs of local students in Years 7 to Years 10. The school is currently in the fourth year of the Fogarty Edvance program.

Whilst making our students 'academic success a priority, we are also make sure their emotional, social growth and self-esteem are nurtured and encouraged. In addition to the Mathematics, English, Science and Humanities, Bridgetown HS offers programs in Emergency Services Cadets, Woodwork, Metalwork, Home Economics, Physical Education, Drama, Music, Photography and Visual Arts. Bridgetown HS is focussed on helping each individual student achieve to the best of their ability.

The community of Bridgetown has much to offer staff in terms of recreation and sporting activities and is conveniently located to allow for day trips to the Geographe and Great Southern coast and wine regions and the many attractions these areas have to offer. This part time position may appeal to those wishing to transition to retirement or pursue their own small business.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
