$159,550 pa plus incidental allowance, superannuation and leave loading

Your Role

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager that is a logical and strategic thinker with extensive experience in any of the following trades – Building, Construction, Plumbing or Electrical.

As part of this role, the successful candidate must be able to manage, plan, control and develop local business opportunities, internal office/building fit outs and construction projects, including design, service and educational activities for inmates.

A key focus of this role will be around managing commercial outcomes of Community, Industry & Capacity as well as, maintaining key relationships between senior managers across Department of Communities & Justice and external stakeholders.


What we are looking for
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience in high level management and providing ongoing development and support to your team.
  • Proven experience in Construction, Plumbing or Electrical
  • Experience working in a high-pressure environment and managing to deliver key business objectives within set timeframes.
Essential requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Building, Construction, Plumbing and/or Electrical.
  • Current NSW driver license and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role
  • Proven experience managing multi-faceted construction and fit out projects up to $10m.
  • Ability and willingness to work across varying trades as required.
  • Ability to work away from home a short notice and long periods of time.
  • Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice in accordance with specified CSNSW timeframes.
