The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals.

The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications, and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.


Reporting to the Regulatory Advisor - Registration (Quality), the Regulatory Assistant - Registration (National Register) will focus on supporting a review of the national register of practitioners.

You will undertake activities and remediation to ensure the national register is accurate and that it reflects practitioners that are suitably qualified or otherwise entitled to hold registration as determined by the National Law and registration standards.

Your exceptional attention to detail, proactive and positive attitude, and great organisational skills will see you succeed in this role

We have two full-time ongoing positions available in our Sydney or Adelaide offices preferably, though other locations will be considered. We will be using this recruitment campaign to merit list for any upcoming vacancies
Ahpra requires all employees to comply with Ahpra policies, including the COVID-19 Vaccination policy and Flexible working policy

About the role

  • Review the national register and relevant registration standards to identify the arrangement that qualifies the practitioner for registration and make appropriate records in the relevant system.
  • Undertake data quality activities and investigate any anomalies that arise to provide consistency of information contained in the register.
  • Assess and process requests for changes to the register in a manner that is consistent with established policies, processes, procedures, standards, and the requirements of the National Law and national board registration standards.
  • Prepare correspondence for practitioners advising them of their recorded details and any amendments required.
  • Recommend and/or take appropriate action under direction and in accordance with established policies and process for any records that may not meet set business rules.
  • Effectively analyse data to identify trends, prepare clear and articulate reports for circulation to inform continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support other data quality activities across the team's function.

About you
You will be process focused, have a keen eye for attention to detail, and an investigative approach. You will have great interpersonal and communication skills, and able to engage and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

You will also meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated problem solving approach to anomalies or omissions found in data and the ability to offer evidencebased and wellreasoned resolutions.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to identify trends and remediate errors in information with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Sound interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and experience in dealing with people at all levels.
  • Sound organisation skills including excellent time management skills plus the ability to prioritise workload in response to time critical targets.
  • Certificate II in Business Administration or equivalent and/or relevant experience.
