As a Compliance and Quality Assurance Manager you will be responsible for:1.

Developing and implementing compliance & QA programs:Develop and implement quality assurance processes to assess the effectiveness of services provided to NDIS participants**:

  • You are responsible for designing, implementing, and managing compliance & QA programs tailored to the organisation's specific needs and NDIS standards. This includes creating policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to NDIS regulatory requirements and quality assurance (i.e. work rights, rostered hours, house requirements).
  • Implementing corrective actions and remediation: If compliance violations are identified, you will work with all teams and the broader organisation to develop and implement corrective actions. This may involve creating remediation plans, monitoring their effectiveness, and ensuring that the organisation's processes and practices align with regulatory requirements.
  • To develop service standards in line with best practice for all areas of service and in accordance with Quality Framework for Disability Services in South Australia.

Monitoring and assessing compliance:
Ensure that the organization adheres to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission's standards and guidelines

  • You must continuously monitor and assess the organisation's compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This involves conducting regular quality audits, risk assessments, and internal reviews to identify compliance and quality gaps and potential areas of noncompliance.
  • Provide effective leadership and direction to staff in the Day Services, and other supports in accordance with the principles and objectives of the Disability Act 2006 and NDIA operational rules.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure that services meet established quality standards.
  • Conducting investigations: When compliance & QA standard violations occur, you will lead or participate in investigations. This includes gathering evidence, interviewing relevant parties, and documenting findings to determine the root cause of the violation and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaboration and advisory role: You will collaborate with different departments, such as legal, human resources, and finance, to provide guidance and support on compliance matters. You will act as an advisor, helping colleagues understand and navigate regulatory complexities.
  • Risk management: As a Compliance and Quality Assurance Manager, you will contribute to the organisation's risk management efforts by identifying and assessing compliance risks, implementing controls to mitigate those risks, and monitoring the effectiveness of risk management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all OptimumCare Plus policies and procedures.

Keeping up with regulatory changes:

  • Staying informed about changes in laws, regulations, and NDIS industry standards is crucial. You need to track and analyse regulatory developments to ensure that the organisation remains uptodate and compliant.
  • Regulatory reporting and disclosures: You will ensure that the organisation complies with its reporting obligations to regulatory authorities. This may involve preparing and submitting reports, disclosures, and certifications as required by applicable regulations.


To prepare for and respond to service delivery changing needs and government directions, especially in relation to the NDIS movement.

Training and education:
Ensure that staff members are trained on and adhere to established policies.


  • Provide training to staff on quality assurance processes, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • You will develop and deliver training programs to educate employees about their compliance obligations and adherence to QA standards. This may involve conducting compliance awareness and quality assurance sessions, creating training materials, and providing guidance on ethical conduct, quality KPIs and regulatory compliance.

Internal reporting and quality management documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records related to quality assurance activities.
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory bodies as required, demonstrating compliance and quality performance.
  • You will establish periodic and ongoing reporting mechanisms for employees to report compliance concerns or violations. You are responsible for investigating and documenting reported incidents, as well as maintaining records related to compliance activities, audits, and remediation efforts.
  • Ensure maintenance and safe keeping of all organisational records in line with OptimumCare Plus policy and procedure.
  • External relations and audits: You may interact with external auditors, regulators, or other stakeholders during compliance audits or inspections. You will facilitate the audit process, provide necessary documentation, and address any compliancerelated inquiries
