What you'll be doing
The Wardsperson works within a multidisciplinary team environment.
It is diverse role which focuses on the patient journey throughout the hospital with an emphasis on the movement of patients between the wards and departments.
Duties include:
- Assist in keeping the area clean and tidy
- Clean and maintain xray protective lead aprons
- Clean and maintain radiological equipment
- Assist in the preparation of the radiological rooms for the examinations.
- Assist in the preparation of patients for xray examinations.
- Physically assisting in the examination room with manual handling of the patient.
- Registering and entering the patient details in the radiology transport system on Karisma.
- Operate equipment as directed and report on equipment malfunctions.
- Liaise with the radiological and nursing staff to ensure a smooth and timely flow of patients through the unit
- Liaise with the clerical staff
- To participate in departmental quality initiative
- To conform to established standards in relation to radiation protection
- All other associated tasks as for "Daily routine Tasks" document
