HelpingMinds is a highly-regarded carer support and mental health services organisation, established over 40 years ago.

Our compassionate team of staff and dedicated volunteers throughout the metro and regional areas, provide quality services and support to more than 10,000 children, youth, adults and families affected by mental illness every year.


The position:

This position forms part of our Individualised Services team that specialise in supporting people with psychosocial disability.

The Support Coordinator / Psychosocial Recovery Coach position focuses on assisting participants to have greater involvement in managing their lives and will collaborate with other services to support and underpin these outcomes.

This role aims to promote choice and control over how, when and where their supports are provided.

Duties of the role will include:

  • Play an active role in supporting NDIS participants to build capacity to coordinate their NDIS plans, negotiate and connect clients to appropriate support and services;
  • Navigate, influence and negotiate with public sector and community based service systems for the delivery of appropriate supports in accordance with NDIS plans;
  • Regularly monitor expenditure and support participants to remain informed as to their rate of expenditure and the potential effects and;
  • Work collaboratively with participants, their families, carers and other services to design, plan and implement a recovery plan and;
  • Build positive relationships with NDIS participants, creating a positive session environment to support their recovery journey.

About You:

  • Diploma or Certificate IV in Mental Health, with a minimum of 2 years' experience working in the mental health field and/or a minimum of two years' experience in mental health related peer work;
  • Current Driver's License and reliable vehicle with third party insurance
  • Proof of Australian Working Rights
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Working with Children Check
  • COVID19 Vaccination Certificate compliant with Government requirements
