We are looking to recruit a Claims Manager who will be responsible for driving business plans and strategy, supporting our claims teams to meet targets, as well as overseeing the delivery of claims services to clients to maximise financial objectives and ensure internal and external compliance benchmarks are met.

The role will report to our Workers Compensation Manager, and will lead 2 Team Leaders, who in turn manage teams of Case Managers.

Responsibilities in the role:

  • Access available reporting to analyse claims portfolio performance and, where necessary, make changes to strategy to deliver against KPIs.
  • Maintain a customercentric culture in relation to Government, Regulator and Customer relationships through prompt resolution of issues raised including meeting all licence and legislative standards.
  • Oversee the delivery of a strategic claims and injury management approach to maximise Return to Work (RTW) outcomes and minimise incurred costs.
  • Support and contribute to an environment where team members can thrive, gain satisfaction from their efforts and are advocates for the AAL business.
  • Participate as a member of the local branch leadership team to drive performance and ensure appropriate support is provided to other key areas including account management and underwriting.
  • Participate as a member of the national claims' leadership team including the completion of monthly reporting and contribution to national initiatives to improve performance and outcomes.
  • Responsibility for ensuring all remedial actions arising out of audits, National Insurer Data Specifications (NIDS), etc are completed and that team members complete all necessary compliance training.

To be successful:

  • You'll require a strong background in Workers Compensation insurance, coupled with a solid track record in leading high performance team
  • Interaction with legal and third part providers.
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory and/or legislative compliance requirements that impact the organisation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse team members.
  • Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with systems, software, databases, reporting and communication tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and empower people to develop individual and team potential.
