- Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is looking for a Health Manager for our Aboriginal Pregnancy and Child and Family Health service NGIYANG.
The Aboriginal Pregnancy and Child and Family Health service NGIYANG provides culturally sensitive pregnancy care, early child development, immunisation, parenting support, education and referrals.
NGIYANG is a free service available to all Aboriginal families living on the Central Coast, and offer home visits and clinic appointments.
This position is located at Tuggerah.About You
- You have a genuine understanding of the issues and health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and of current legislative requirements, policies and practice in relation to these issues
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, consult and negotiate effectively with senior executives, management, health staff, and external stakeholders including high level oral and written communication skills
- Hold a current valid Australian Drivers Licence
- You have a tertiary qualification in a Health related field and/or
- Demonstrated experience with management level qualifications, or you are working towards acquiring your qualification, and have relevant experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
What you'll be doing
- The Aboriginal Health Services Manager Ngiyang is responsible for the coordination of client services and management of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of high quality midwifery and child and family health service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across CCLHD. This position is to ensure cultural sensitivity is paramount in service delivery.
- As a health service leader the Aboriginal Health Service Manager Ngiyang is accountable for culture, quality and safety, financial management, change management and patient experience
- Developing effective partnerships and collaborative working arrangements both within CCLHD and with external stakeholders, given limited resources and competing operational priorities.
- Ongoing monitoring and response to the diverse and changing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations with a strong focus on selfdetermination.
- Ensure that programs, services, initiatives and projects contribute to identified service priorities and performance indicators for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities within CCLHD.
