The library service sits within the Arts & Libraries department of the Community Services division.

There are five main branches based in Clayton, Glen Waverley, Mount Waverley, Oakleigh and Wheelers Hill, and Mulgrave Neighbourhood Library situated within Wellington Road Community Centre.


About the Position:


The Library Operations and Branch Team Leader is responsible for delivering Library Human Resources processes and administration projects that ensures the delivery of an exceptional customer experience to all visitors of Monash Public Library Service.


The Library Operations and Branch Team Leader is a member of the Library Leadership Team and is responsible for the supervision of the Wheelers Hill (shared responsibility) and Mulgrave Library Teams.


About you:

Experience in service development, facilitation and delivery of strategic, creative and innovative library service

Experience in developing and delivering training programs aimed at increasing staff skill levels in library service delivery

Successful people and team management skills and experience

Ability to plan, prioritise and complete work to a high standard, within set timelines and with competing priorities

Strong verbal and written communication skills in reporting and planning, including well-developed presentation skills

Requirement of the position:

Tertiary degree qualifications in Librarianship, Information Management or related discipline, or management

Eligibility for professional membership (librarian) of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) is highly desirable

Demonstrated experience in the development, facilitation, and delivery of strategic and innovative library operations projects

Proven experience in identifying and developing/delivering training programs aimed at increasing staff skill levels in library service delivery

Demonstrated successful people and team management skills and experience

Employee Working with Children's Check

Satisfactory National Police Check; and
