The Opportunity

A dynamic opportunity has opened up in the City Strategy Team for a Senior Open Space Planner. Reporting to the Coordinator of Open Space Planning, you will manage and guide the creation, evaluation, and execution of strategic plans, documents, and projects requiring expertise in landscape architecture and open space planning.

You will play a pivotal role in the City Strategy team, overseeing public areas and open space development, leading multidisciplinary teams, and engaging with the community and stakeholders effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, support, and advise the Open Space Planning team, providing expertise in open space planning, project management, and strategic outcomes.
  • Review and develop plans, policies, and guidelines related to open spaces and actively contribute to policy development.
  • Contribute significantly to the prioritization and planning of active and passive open spaces.
  • Engage with the community to ensure their awareness and input in Open Space Planning projects.

About You

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Recreation Planning, or a related field with substantial experience.
  • Proven experience in leading teams, preparing project briefs, and delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to open space usage, design, and maintenance.
  • Experience in community engagement for various projects.
  • Valid Victorian Driver's License.
