As the Business Development Manager (BDM) based in Brisbane -  your role is to acquire new business and retain existing business to grow company revenue and subscriber market share in the Medium Segment focusing on prospect organisations in the 20-500 employee range. 

You will be working closely with the Sales Manager and Solutions Consultant to drive whole-of-business sales outcomes and extend market reach. A considerable success driver of the role will be the ability to generate opportunities from prospect lists through a combination of Digital engagement, cold engagement and other lead generation activities.

  • Deliver upon agreed sales targets in both acquisition of new SMB customers – with particular emphasis on medium market space: 20 – 500 employee range. 

  • Manage the development of a balanced and sustainable pipeline to deliver long term sales goals. 

  • Implement upon customer experience strategies to minimise churn and improve Optus Brand in market. 

  • Works collaboratively with the Customer Management Team to ensure cross sell opportunities are identified and action all leads for this function.

  • Strong background in Business Development, commercially astute with sound understanding of business drivers; 

  • Ability to build a pipeline of opportunities through consistently achieving high levels of prospecting activity; 

  • Extensive relationship / strategic sales experience within the Telecommunications and/or IT sectors; 

  • Strong presentation - written & verbal to internal and external senior executives; 

  • Magnificent personal dedication and willingness to accept accountability for actions complimented by effective negotiation skills, able to manage external and internal relationships with ease;
