What will you accomplish?
As an Industry Advisor for Natural Resources ANZ, you are instrumental in helping Natural Resources organisations progress their digital transformation agenda by understanding their strategic objectives, the trends and challenges impacting their business, and with how SAP can help deliver the outcomes they need. From time to time, you will engage the customer directly early in the sales process with your industry and product knowledge, and in-depth knowledge of what drives value creation for Natural Resources companies.
You can establish credibility within our ecosystem and customers and in the industry. When customers hear you promote the compelling value that our solutions bring in their Industry, they understand why SAP is the partner of choice to support their strategy. You will provide thought leadership, demonstrate your understanding of business imperatives, and work well with SAP sales/partners to align on a strategy and empower them to execute.
General activities:
- Support SAP customers, SAP sales and partners with industry expertise as a trusted advisor and thought leader on topics crucial to the success in the Natural Resources industry
- Participate in customer engagements (either directly or indirectly) to assess strategic objectives, map out key opportunities for incremental value and breakthrough innovation, and present justification for change, including elements that will contribute to an approved customer business case
- Work closely with the sales team to understand the needs of customers in your industry and advise them on an industry sales strategy.
- Present our industry credentials and solutions to a diverse range of stakeholders in your industry, be able to understand their objectives and perspectives, and relate these back to how SAP solutions can support these goals.
- Establish & drive the execution for key sales strategies and campaigns:
- With Partner team on execution of aligned partner plans
- With Marketing on the execution of digital and physical marketing events
- With Sales on delivering the relevant and timely industry messages
- With Industry Business Architects, all of the above and more.
- Proactively stay up to date on industry-relevant SAP solution capabilities and the associated value proposition
- Work with a diverse and virtual team across ANZ, APJ and global on large, complex deals
- Innovate, innovate and innovate across your industry, and more specifically the sales plays, the solutions to big challenges issues

Your basic qualifications
- Requires 10+ years of relevant professional experience, incl. 5+ years of experience in Natural Resources industries giving you industry credentials and knowledge
- Management consulting experience preferred
- Preferably some SAP experience as a customer, a partner or even within SAP
- Any relevant SAP experience is very highly prized, but the experience of our competitors is just as interesting.
