Fonda Mexican Chadstone is seeking an energetic and passionate cook for a permanent full-time role with an eye on a career in management

Our Cooks are responsible for:

  • The Guest Experience, including preparing food to dietary requirements.
  • The mentoring and development of BOH team members.
  • Delegation of duties to BOH team members.
  • Planning menu’s, controlling COG’s and Labour figures Stock rotation and ordering.
  • Food safety, including temp control of products, cookers and refrigeration.
  • Preparation, cooking and quality of all menu items, including the use of grills, ovens and other equipment.
  • Overseeing other kitchen team members in the preparation, quality and cooking of menu items.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Recruitment, rostering and training other BOH team members.

Our Kitchen team is a key ingredient in welcoming guests to our Fonda ‘Casa’. Our Cooks lead the team in preparing fresh delicious Mexican food in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • An ambition for hospitality management 3 years’ full-time cook experience, or 2 years’ full-time experience and a Cert IV or higher qualification in Commercial Cookery
  • A current Certificate in Food Safety (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Possess a current legal right to work in Australia
  • Able to commute to/from Chadstone
  • Can work weekends, late nights, and some public holidays
