Job Details

Fonda Mexican is seeking a highly skilled Cook to join our team in a full-time role with career growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook high-quality food to meet dietary requirements and exceed customer expectations.
  • Mentor and develop BOH team members, promoting a positive and inclusive kitchen environment.
  • Delegate tasks efficiently, ensuring seamless kitchen operations and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
  • Plan menus, control costs, and optimize labor efficiency to drive business growth.
  • Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all menu items, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Lead the kitchen team in maintaining a clean and safe working environment, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Recruit, roster, and train BOH team members, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.

Requirements:

  • Ambition for hospitality management, with 3 years of full-time cooking experience or 2 years with a Cert IV or higher qualification in Commercial Cookery.
  • Current Certificate in Food Safety (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Legal right to work in Australia and ability to commute to/from Chadstone.
  • Availability to work weekends, late nights, and some public holidays.
