About the Team
Safety is our top priority at ARTC, not just for our employees and contractors but also for rail operators and the communities we serve. The Safety & Environment team plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of our rail assets. We work across and within several complex and challenging environments, from greenfield construction sites to operation and maintenance of some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia where our purpose is to enable ARTC to deliver while protecting the health and safety of our people, the community and environment.
About the Opportunity
Support the leaders and frontline teams by providing expert services, support and assurance for the effective implementation of ARTC’s safety management systems. The goal is to enhance safety outcomes, promoting ownership of safety culture, reduce operational risks and ensure compliance with ARTC’s policies and legislation. The role is crucial in fostering a culture of safety across the business, driving performance improvements and aligning initiatives with the broader business strategy.
- Act as a trusted business partner for leaders and frontline teams offering coaching, guidance, reporting and support on safety related matters, initiatives and performance.
- Support the Senior Safety Business Partner in the execution of their role and responsibilities.
- Undertake high quality safety interactions, assurance activity, incident investigations and activities as assigned from time to time.
About You
To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience and knowledge in safety systems implementation, risk management and assurance practices.
- Understanding of safety regulations, legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience in incident investigation processes.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and drive performance improvement.
- Ability to travel intrastate and interstate (class C driving licence required).
