Our Opportunity
 
Based in our Head Office in Cremorne, this Buying Assistant (6 Month Parental Leave Contract) position proactively supports the product development cycle and is an integral role within the team and business. 
 
You will be working closely and building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and will display initiative in supporting and partnering with the Buyer to improve the financial results of the business and achieve overall business objectives. 
 
Along with your sound knowledge and experience in creating CADS, your keen fashion sense and strong administrative capabilities, you will hit the ground running across the various facets and functions of the role and team while always learning and developing in this space.
You will be assisting with the product development process, maintaining and developing effective supplier relationships and working closely with other teams and departments across the Sportsgirl brand. 
 
What your day-today will look like

  • Create CADS for trend collections
  • Administration associated order raising and order management and range sheets
  • Management and preparation of weekly sales reports, products, merchandise rack, product analysis etc
  • Effective management of all samples 
  • Liaising with Planning team on any order changes and delivery updates
  • Communicate creative input and innovation for product development
  • Attend fit sessions to review garment on body and prepare fit samples
  • Daily communication with vendor base
  • Maintain effective communication with all other departments

Our ideal candidate will have

  • Relevant education; Design/Buying/Merchandise Diploma or Business/Commercial degree
  • Previous experience as a Buying Assistant in a fashion retail environment preferred
  • A LOVE for product, and a passion to grow in this field
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in creating CADS and using Illustrator, Indesign & Photoshop
  • Sound knowledge and proficiency in MS Suite 
  • Experience in managing administration tasks
  • A proactive, collaborative and adaptable nature
