The RoleWe are looking for an experienced horticulturist with a proven track record in team leadership to join us as our Operations Leader in a full-time, permanent role. In this position, you will oversee a team of horticulture staff, focusing on developing their skills and maintaining a culture of operational excellence by achieving KPIs, safety, and quality standards. As a natural leader with a passion for continuous improvement, you will provide frontline leadership to ensure the safe and effective execution of tasks assigned to the horticulture team. Additionally, you will:

  • Drive continuous improvement by leading, motivating, and supporting the team.
  • Lead activities relating to lifting and managing employee performance (annual reviews, setting expectations, performance improvement plans).
  • Embed a safety culture through proactive leadership of the Health, Safety and Well being of employees. 
  • Drive the growth and development of team members' skills by promoting multitasking opportunities, identifying areas for improvement, and organising relevant training programs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and strategic projects.

About You
You have a strong track record of leading teams to meet targets with a focus on customer satisfaction. Additionally, you are:

  • A self-aware leader who confidently balances the needs of both internal and external stakeholders and makes sound decisions.
  • Experienced and well-versed in the application of safe OH&S practices.
  • Highly knowledgeable in horticulture, including landscaping, pest management, soil health, and irrigation methods.
  • Equipped with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to drive positive change within a team.
  • Committed to a strong work ethic and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
