The Opportunity

We are on the hunt for a creative and passionate Social Media Marketing Manager with a specialisation in video and creator marketing to join our team to take on a 12-month fixed term parental leave cover. We’re looking for an incredible human who loves making and shaping innovative social video content and leveraging creator and influencer partnerships.

This position will drive the evolution of our creator and short form video strategies, ensuring that it effectively supports broader marketing goals and enhances Medibank’s brand visibility and preference amongst target audiences on key channels and placements such as TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. 

In bringing this to life, you’ll also work closely with agency partners to identify, recruit, and cultivate strong relationships with relevant creators and influencers, as well as working with internal stakeholders to bring ideas to life. 

You’ll be joining the Integrated Brand team (full of wonderful humans) who manage and deliver the Paid, Owned and Earned strategy for Medibank, and will work in tandem with the wider social media team, comprising another Social Media Marketing Manager, and Social Media Marketing Specialist. 

You will contribute to making a huge impact on the health of our people, members and all those who will join us in the future – making Medibank famous for helping Australians live better along the way.

Day to day, this role would see you: 

Deciding if your day is best spent working from home or in the office – we don’t go for mandated office attendance days here at Medibank. Though you may want to spend time in our new office – we think its pretty amazing

Develop and execute measurable creator and influencer marketing strategies and campaigns to drive brand awareness and engagement, and to shift the dial on consideration and preference 

Negotiate partnerships and contracts with creators and influencers/agencies/talent anagers 

Develop and implement comprehensive social media marketing campaigns for TikTok and other vertical video placements like Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts 

Partner with Finance and the wider team on annual social budget forecasting and initiatives planning, and managing your own allocation of this. 

Track and measure campaign performance, analysing ROI and identifying opportunities for optimisation. 

Taking some time to recharge your batteries and encouraging others to do the same – you might grab a takeaway coffee and head out for a walking meeting with a team member, get along to a lunchtime yoga class or log off early to catch up with a mate and recharge your social battery.

Experience in managing relationships with agencies and creators is also essential. You’ll need to be comfortable with managing a budget, as well as ensuring that tasks are running to time and cost. An effective storyteller, you will be able to bring together people, ideas and insights to achieve great results for the business.
