  • Up to 12 months with potential to extend, pending business and performance requirements.

About the Team
The Procurement Branch is responsible for partnering with business areas to source goods and services through a centralised procurement model. Our mission is to ensure value-for-money outcomes by applying the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Procurement Policy. Additionally, our Grants function supports business areas in conducting grant activities in line with the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Guidelines, relevant policies, and legislation.

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced EL1 Procurement Capability to join our team. This role involves undertaking complex work to deliver quality outcomes across procurement functions. You will exercise a considerable degree of independence, engaging in complex problem-solving and issues management. The role requires sound decision-making and judgment to provide high-level policy advice and operational support.

  • Lead the Procurement Capability Programme delivery.
  • Implement recommendations from the procurement training needs analysis report.
  • Support business engagement on the procurement principles strategy.
  • Create engaging procurement content for organisation-wide consumption.
  • Deliver organisation-wide procurement communications and notices.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships through business area engagements and presentations.
  • Administer and analyse the procurement capability questionnaire.

About you
To thrive in this role, you need:

  • Proven experience in successfully leading a program of work with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Strong ability to engage in complex problem-solving and issues management.
  • Excellent decision-making and judgment skills to provide high-level policy advice and operational support.
  • Ability to manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships and represent the organisation in various forums.
  • Experience in delivering technical training to a diverse audience.
  • Strong communication skills to create and deliver engaging procurement content.
  • Ability to analyse data and administer questionnaires to assess procurement capability.
  • Be able to pass and hold a national police check and worker screening check.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen.
