The Opportunity

We are seeking a Solicitor to join our premier, award winning Band 1 Corporate M&A team in Sydney.

In this role you will have exposure to some of the best and highest profile deals in Australia and work closely with a range of leading Partners across our Corporate group including Tony Damian, Nicole Pedler and Amelia Morgan.

What you’ll do

  • Work across a range of corporate transactions including public and private M&A deals (including schemes of arrangement and takeovers), and cross border transactions.

  • Be a key contributor on M&A transactions, working closely with Partners and Senior Associates to draft and negotiate key transaction documents, perform due diligence, and provide advice on areas of legal risk for clients.

  • Manage your time various across large transactions and enjoy working closely with other legal teams across the firm, ensuring key deadlines are met, and deliverables are anticipated.

  • Support the delivery of exceptional client service, being highly responsive and supporting Partners and other team members with business development activities.

  • Provide mentorship to Graduates and Clerks that rotate through the team, in addition to contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment with your fellow Solicitors.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in law and an unrestricted Australian or New Zealand practicing certificate.

  • A minimum of 4 years’ post qualification experience in within a leading corporate M&A practice.

  • Experience across public and/or private M&A, and corporate advisory experience.

  • Excellent academic results, and a passion for continued learning.

  • A desire and energy to be part of a high energy, high performing team.

  • A proactive approach and ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously.

  • A curiosity about clients, their businesses and the M&A landscape.
