Kensington Secondary School is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and innovative Deputy Principals for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.

In this role, suitable applicants should support teaching staff to develop and deliver personalised learning plans, that ensure for literacy, numeracy and social skills development and a range of collaboratively developed strategies in response to individual needs. The Deputy Principal should have a deep understanding of the functions of student behaviour in the context of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability and trauma and with appropriate qualifications in education support. The ability to be an effective communicator and be able to build strong positive relationships with students and families under difficult circumstances is highly desirable.

It would be seen as advantageous if potential applicants, had experience using programs such as teams, understood a variety of disabilities and complex learning needs whilst being able to manage each case individually, whilst also demonstrating the capacity to empower students and to prepare them for future success beyond school.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:

Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings; High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes; Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs). Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.
