We offer our clients seamless access to the expertise of our 100,000+ people across 100+ countries globally. In Australia, our powerhouse of marketing capabilities stretches across creative, media, digital, production and PR.

Role Purpose

The Head of People & Culture is a key member of the agency Executive team, providing technical coaching, counsel and guidance along with driving innovative and future facing people strategies. The role also acts as a senior leader in the Groupe People & Culture team, leading a range of Publicis Groupe strategic projects.

Key Outputs

Be actively involved in internal knowledge sharing, gaining industry insights, upskilling (attending events or webinars) to ensure focus on P&C trends and future workforce models Act as an expert counsel to the CEO (and other leaders as relevant) developing a deep strategic partnership, providing value beyond people & culture. Lead people discussions confidently through deep commercial understanding, business acumen and a knowledge of the current challenges the agency faces. Utilise industry understanding, strategy, people stats and insights to provide a commercial people and culture lens. Develop and drive ways to improve our organisational culture and EVP to attract, engage and retain high calibre employees. Oversee all senior Employee Relations matters and ensure compliance with company policy, federal, state and local employment laws, delegating where possible to the People and Culture Advisor. Instil a culture of progressive people development through innovative talent succession planning, review completion and calibration, retention, and development strategies. Lead the implementation of and create value from the relevant Groupe programs, policies, or operational processes. Provide a meaningful contribution to the broader P&C team acting as a senior leader to coach and inspire junior team members.

Skills & Experience

10+ years of people & culture experience, most recently in a BP/Director role ideally within the media, advertising or digital industry. Meaningful examples of the creation of an innovative (possibly award winning) people strategy alongside the process of stakeholder engagement and buy-in, implementation and reflection. Experience partnering with a CEO and CFO and holding executive level discussions. Deep and broad experience across the whole employee lifecycle including recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, leadership development, remuneration and benefits, employee relations and off-boarding. Demonstrated experience working across the complexities that multi-site and matrix style organisational set-up brings and how to overcome these challenges to your advantage. Excellent working knowledge of employment law, including the Fair Work Act and the National Employment Standards, with the ability to apply this knowledge in workplace situations.

Behaviours

A natural ability to engage people, with strong relationship building skills and a high EQ. Comfortable with the flexibility, fluidity, constant change and often ambiguity that the industry brings along with proven experience in org restructures and driving organisational change projects. Ability to influence others, working effectively with all levels of an organisation. A creative thinker, always considering new ways, better ways to do things and comfortable working an environment where we always challenge the status quo. You show up, each and every day with professionalism, attention to detail, strong follow up, time management, clear communication and problem resolution skills. Able to manage sensitive information with discretion, acting diplomatic and tactful when dealing with delicate situations.
