Job Description

Reporting to the National DC Inventory & Systems Manager, you cultivate a robust culture of risk and compliance and provide assistance in implementing and overseeing the effective operation of quality and safety management systems, which includes identification and coordination of corrective action initiatives and programs, compilation of data to drive improvement, compliance and process assurance activities.

This role will be responsible for maintaining policies and procedures to ensure that they comply with industry regulatory standards and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and participate in all daily DC systems and inventory activities to ensure they are completed to schedule and to the required level of quality and safety.
  • Develop consistent and compliant standards across all shifts and supporting the DC operations leaders in maintaining process compliance.
  • Conduct all activities in line with Petbarn process protocols and to agreed deadlines.
  • Ensure SOPs are in place for all DC processes and measure compliance to these SOPs.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the delivery of the Sydney DC inventory assurance program, through cycle counting, spot checks and annual stocktakes.
  • Support the DC operations team in the successful delivery of services through engagement, training, and the sharing of process review learnings
  • Provide analysis and resolution of SOH discrepancies, slotting issues, pick face availability, stock order multiple issues, expiry dates, stock rotation issues and damages tracking and improvement.
  • Support the collection of master data for all new inbound SKUs.
  • Coordinate and participate in the twice daily damages run and complete required reporting
  • Facilitate functional training for employees, oversee sit inductions for new employees and maintain the DC’s skills matrix
  • Perform scheduled audits across a range of process paths to ensure we are compliant with our processes, safety & Chain of Responsibility

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the warehousing and distribution industry (preferably within the FMCG industry).
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of distribution centre operations, stocktake processes and inventory assurance activities.
  • Superior working knowledge of WMS functionality.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Experience in business improvement (lean) and managing through change.
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) for analysis, KPI and business reporting.
  • Ability to communicate upwards as well as downwards with confidence and credibility.
