This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a role in the delivery of a nation-building renewable energy project that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
Specifically, this role will work on the Victoria-NSW Interconnector West (VNI West) project which is a new 500 kV double circuit transmission line connecting the high voltage electricity grids in New South Wales and Victoria.
In your new role as the Senior Health and Safety Business Partner you will play a key role in managing and supporting all aspects of health and safety The VNI West project. The position will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with Transgrid policies and procedures and the relevant safety legislation as well as providing specialist advice and coordination services on all project lifecycle matters relating to H&S. It is expected that you will add value to the team through providing specialist advice and coordination services on all project lifecycle matters relating to health and safety and support site delivery with interactions with delivery partners and Transgrid personnel to achieve the highest level of safety outcomes for the project
Initially this role will be office-based role and will transition to a predominantly site-based role as construction commences, being embedded within a specific project team with a hard reporting line to the H&S Manager VNI-W. An ability to travel and work away from home for long periods of time is essential.
Position requirements
Tertiary qualifications at degree or associate diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental Management or equivalent relevant experience
SafeWork NSW “White Card”
Extensive, relevant Transmission industry and / or large construction / infrastructure project experience in H&S roles
A comprehensive knowledge of the requirements of H&S legislative agencies, relevant legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards and Guidelines.
A comprehensive understanding of H&S systems and programs as well as Risk Management principles.
Understanding of H&S auditing and demonstrated experience in the implementation of AS 4801 and ISO45001
High level of conceptual and problem-solving skills
A high level of oral and written communication skills.
Well-developed and demonstrable presentation and report writing skills
Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office applications
Current driver’s licence
Able to work away from home from time-to-time as required
