Assistant Director

Contract until 15 November 2024 | Canberra Location | $78.22 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation

OVERVIEW

Our State Government client is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Director to join their team. Within this role you will play a lead role in communicating the value of information, records and archives, providing strategic advice and influencing practice to drive a culture of open government and effective information governance.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership, project and program management and team administration to ensure the delivery of consistent high-quality outcomes in set timeframes.
  • Plan and design creative problem-solving workshops and training materials that help influence across-government change in records and information management thinking and practices.
  • Plan, design and deliver communications tools and strategies that provide sound advice and promote the importance of archives and records to government and the community.
  • Build, manage and maintain high quality collaborative and constructive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders to drive positive outcomes and represent the Territory Records Office at meetings and other forums.
  • Prepare a wide range of documents including agendas, papers and minutes of meetings, project documents and high level briefings and reports.
  • Contribute to and participate in a team engaged in significant and transformational change processes.
  • Monitor and provide accurate and timely reporting on operations, project activity, workload and resources.
  • This position works in a team and involves direct supervision and mentoring of staff.

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, facilitate the sharing of skills and provide support among stakeholders.
  • Experience providing information governance advice.
  • Ability to embed and influence good records and information management principles.
